Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes. Single gets you a private room; Double pairs you with another creative (often a model). The rate covers lodging, breakfast, scheduled group meals, local transport, and all creative sessions.

  • Plenty. We block out multiple half‑day sessions across varied settings. You’ll leave with a full gallery for your book, plus behind‑the‑scenes content.

  • We rotate pairings so every shooter works with every model at least once. You’ll also have time for mini one‑on‑ones if you want to chase a concept that’s uniquely yours.

    • Base level: We provide a master mood board, location permits, and direction on story flow.

    • Stylist on board? If a fashion stylist joins, we’ll schedule fully styled sets (no extra cost).

    • No stylist? Bring signature pieces or reach out—we’ll advise on how to build cohesive looks with the model’s wardrobe.

    • Must‑haves: Main body, favorite portrait lens, wide or normal zoom, backup batteries, memory cards.

    • Nice‑to‑haves: Lightweight reflector or small strobe (we’re traveling light), laptop for evening culling.
      We’ll share power‑adapter info and weather considerations in your pre‑departure kit.

  • No Drones: Our venue does not allow them.
    Large modifiers: Space is limited, so stick to collapsible gear you can carry solo.

  • You retain full copyright to your photographs. The retreat and participating models get perpetual portfolio usage rights(social media, website, look‑book) with proper credit. Commercial licensing beyond that must be negotiated directly between you and the model (we’ll provide a simple release template).

  • Yes.

    1. Rapid Critique: Flag 3–5 shots you’re proud of (or stuck on), get constructive feedback.

    2. Skill Swap: Each photographer demos a favorite workflow trick—anything from tethered capture to grading LUTs.

  • Absolutely—community commerce is welcome. Just keep it transparent and respectful of schedules. We can carve out off‑hours slots for any private client work you line up.

  • It happens! Models tend to secure spots first. If you’re solo, you’ll have exclusive shooting rights—meaning more time, zero competition, and first pick of every location. Backup shooter stress? Gone.

    • Deposit: Non‑refundable, locks your seat and starts the planning process. $500 Non-refundable deposit due to hold your space. Unless canceled by host, deposit can be applied to next retreat or other services.
